PRESS RELEASES 09/19/03 Travel to Transform Yourself (and the World) For Immediate Release Contact liz@whereisliz.com Transformational Travel When they travel, some people seek only vacation (rest, recharge, renewal),
which is a necessary and worthy goal. But what can a person do
to make their travel experience more meaningful? With a few simple
strategies, you can turn your vacation into a transformation,
changing both yourself and the world for the better. "What a lot of us don’t realize is that every time we travel, we are, in effect, ambassadors. We directly help form the impression that people in other countries have of our homeland." "My mission is tri-fold: To learn how to be a global ambassador,
to teach others how to do it, and to allow everyone to participate by
sharing what they have, be it time, talent or resources." "The world’s problems are big, and none of us alone can solve all of them, but we can each do something to make the world a better place. Small efforts can add up in ways we can’t even imagine." "This is my attempt to help, by bringing a community of caring people
together in support of world peace and global understanding." says
Scherle. Everyone attending will receive a Peace Partnership Passport,
complete with his or her photograph as a Global Ambassador, supplied in
generous support by professional photographer Lori Cheung
(thePortraitPhotographer.com). Donations of goods and services for the silent auction are still desired, please contact Liz Scherle at liz@whereisliz.com + + + 09/03/03 Liz to speak at Travel Tales Event Dylan's
Pub Dylan's, an authentic old-time pub in the Mission District hosts an evening of Travel Tales. Tell a travel story, listen to a few, hoist a few, network with other travelers and writers, maybe get your work published online. The theme for this month is: "Where in the world have you been, and what did you do there to make the world a better place? Did you make friends, volunteer, donate time and/or money?" Guest speaker is artist, web designer and world traveler Liz Scherle. Beer and wine available at the bar. Seating for this event is limited, so RSVPs are vital. Preference given to storytellers over listeners. See you in the "snug" at the back of the pub. Log

REVIEWS I was very impressed
with your web site! The pictures are fabulous,
the layout is great, and your commentary is very amusing and helpful!
Viewing your site has just added to the excitement of my upcoming trip--grazie! I am completely, utterly and overwhelmingly in
AWE of your quest and journey(s). I have bookmarked your site
so that I can travel vicariously along with you. I, too, seek new challenges
(especially now that I'm in my 40's)...it's time to shake things up a
bit. All the best to you!! I just called my best friend and told her to
pull up your web site. We were reading it together. We just love
it! I have done a lot of traveling in my life--13 countries
notched on my belt--and much of it solo, yet for some reason your
journey moves and inspires me immensely. I am moved by your courage
and your willingness to share your process with the world! I found your beautiful web site! The world is certainly
not the safest place to be, but your message of Forgiveness and
Peace couldn't be more timely! I'm really enjoying your web-site and your ongoing
saga of discovering the athlete within... I just delved into your Italian adventure for the first
time. Wow. It is fantastic. I feel evoked, very heart filled up
and just really connected with the spirit of adventure and awe at the
world. The sounds from St. Peter's chapel were so beautiful,
I listened twice. I love the places where you can mouse over a little
picture to see the bigger versions. It is beautifully laid out, well written,
and fun (I love the lists, too). Thank you for the trip to Roma! I am absolutely inspired by your experiences...
We should all regularly do things that scare us. It is what makes life
exciting & rewarding! I read your web site. GO GIRL!! You are one brave chick
and you sound like you are having a ball. Your writing is fun
and breezy and I look forward to more news. Nice web site Liz!! This is amazing.
God speed to you! Great site, great writing--very interesting, inspiring,
and innovative. Looking forward to keeping up with your journey,
and also am thinking about hiring your running coach myself, just based
on what you wrote... Thanks so much for your brilliantly designed
web site giving us vicarious thrills thru your trip to Italy
etc. I'm thoroughly enjoying all your pictures and comments. You
travel much like I like to, so this is enchanting to read and see. |
